The Ag-Cat design goes back to 1955 when Grumman designers Joe Lippert and Arthur Koch put forward a proposal for a new agricultural aircraft. At this time, Grumman was heavily involved in building military aircraft, particularly for the US Navy, so the idea of building an agricultural aircraft was novel. Holme Ringvej 148 (under renovering) - DSC_2073_4_5_Balancer

Holme Ringvej 148, built 1917. In late 2013 began an extensive restoration and conversion of this building. The ground-floor restaurant/café was turned into an apartment, most of the building's interior walls torn down and an exterior, backside stairwell completely demolished. Windows, doors and roof all replaced. The project ran into severe delays, including the bankrupcy of one of the main companies involved. Due to all the problems, it ended up taking around two years to complete the transformation. View from the backyard, showing the scars after the demolished stairwell. The purpose of these walks is not to take photos of individual buildings, but rather to document the streets as a whole in order to preserve the views for future generations. Some houses will inevitably be obscured behind fences and hedges. In such cases, there will be a photo of the hedge or fence in question. The photo will, of course, be rubbish, but it will accurately show the best possible view from a public road. Over the years, fences and hedges will come and go (as will the houses), sometimes improving the views, other times, the opposite. Bus ticket machine, Viby Torv. What's so special about this, you may ask? Well... it's actually working! Back in 2011 a new citybus network was introduced in Aarhus. Part of that project involved the purchase of several ticket machines, like this one, to be placed at traffical key points in Aarhus. But there was a small problem: the new machines didn't work... something about technical incompatabilities, they said... but they were working on it, and all should soon be solved. Some time passed... the tech guys were still "working on it" and some progress was apparently being made. To prove the point, it was decided to set up the first machine, on Viby Torv (yes, this one), so that the system could undergo the final tests. So Viby got the first machine... hoorah! After a few days of testing, the system crashed completely, and it was back to the drawing board for the techs. Meanwhile, the poor machine just sat there, saying "out of order" Every now and then the media would write about these pesky machines, and ask if they would ever be fixed. And every time the answer would be along the lines of "we hope to have them ready very soon" Well, in february 2014 it finally happened, after a delay of 2½ years, the ticket machine on Viby Torv became operational and soon after the other ones were installed around the city. This is made for the phrase 'they don't make 'em like that anymore'. The broadcasting world has changed so much in my lifetime. These days we can stream anything on demand and binge on the media we love. Back in the day I remember fondly when we'd listen to the radio particularly on a Sunday. In fact music piracy involved a cassette recorder and the hope the dj didn't talk over the start or end of the song. Pure nostalgia. If I'm being honest I'm happy with my sonos system and wouldn't swap it for anything! Taken on assignment at a new venue.
