Taken in September 2011. Another angle I have had my eye on for a while. I was hoping for some cloud shadow but a tractor came along instead to finish the field which had already been started. It might have been a long wait otherwise to get it far enough away. The Ring is behind the tractor and the South Downs Way snakes up on the right. Best if you View On White. Neu looks so much more like a hamster now. He scared me last night. I heard loud squeaking noises from his cage and ran to get him. He had a piece of cotton bedding wraped around one of his feet so tight that his toes were all red! It was super hard to take it off because Neu wouldn't stop moving and squeaking. But I did it! No more cotton bedding for my hammies, I'll stick with giving them pieces of toilet paper instead, thank god his cage is near my bed and I heard him, otherwise who knows what would have happened to his foot :(. I tried to portray the clown character in human form. because the Javanese people believe. that he had lived in the past although it was just a fictitious. ............................................................................................. In Javanese wayang (shadow puppets), the panakawan or panakavan (phanakavhan) are the clown servants of the hero. There are four of them – Semar (also known as Ki Lurah Semar), Petruk, Gareng and Bagong. Semar is the personification of a deity, sometimes said to be the dhanyang or guardian spirit of the island of Java. In Javanese mythology, deities can only manifest themselves as ugly or otherwise unprepossessing humans, and so Semar is always portrayed as short and fat with a pug nose and a dangling hernia. His three companions are his adopted sons, given to Semar as votaries by their parents. Petruk is portrayed as tall and gangling with a long nose, Gareng as short with a club foot and Bagong as obese. The panakawan always appear in the second act of a wayang performance – pathet sanga – as servants to the hero of the story regardless of who that hero is. Similar characters appear in other Indonesian wayang and theatrical traditions, including those of Bali and Sunda, under different names. Green vegetable bug.

This pest, is also known in some countries as the green vegetable bug. It occurs throughout the Americas, in various Pacific Islands, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and Africa. First seen in Hawaii in 1961 on Oahu, it has spread to all major islands. The bugs feed by piercing plant tissue with needle-like stylets. The actual feeding puncture is not immediately visible. Adults and nearly all nymphal stages (2nd to 5th nymphal stages) feed on a variety of plant tissue. Succulent parts of the plant and the developing flowers or fruit are preferred. Feeding injury becomes visible sometime after actual feeding. Feeding on flower buds results in premature abscission. Feeding injury on leguminous pods results in seed damage and ultimately distorted development of the pods. Nymphal and adult feeding on macadamia nuts often results in spotting or pitting of the kernels and premature abscission. Soft and spongy tissue under otherwise intact epidermis results when the stink bug feeds on vegetable tissue.

A friend gave me a Nikkor 35mm 1.4 lens so I thought I'd give it a try at maximum aperture and this is what came out at minimum focus length. The depth of field is razor thin on an FX sensor. It's an old lens with manual focus and no chip so the exif data doesn't register the aperture or focal length. I adjusted the contrast and added a bit of vignette but otherwise, this is how it came out of the camera. The West Block on Parliament Hill in Ottawa Ontario is currently undergoing extensive renovations and restoration. The work on the exterior masonry is being performed under full wrap.
