The important bit is keeping saturation unchanged when converting from RAW i.e. relying on default camera gamma curves applicable to your specific sensor. White balance and EV can still be adjusted though. This method is not perfect (camera curves differ slightly in different RAW converters) but should generally provide a realistic summary of clipped colors and let you pick the best output color space for most natural reproduction. A friend gave me a Nikkor 35mm 1.4 lens so I thought I'd give it a try at maximum aperture and this is what came out at minimum focus length. The depth of field is razor thin on an FX sensor. It's an old lens with manual focus and no chip so the exif data doesn't register the aperture or focal length. I adjusted the contrast and added a bit of vignette but otherwise, this is how it came out of the camera. Qingdao-6 Ilford Pan 100 developed in LC29 (1+19 8min 20deg) I really like this cheap plastic camera, its really fun to shoot with and comes with a quite decent 40mm f2.8 lens for its price. Its an "Agfa Optima Flash Sensor" under a Chinese name. Its shutter is electronically controlled, you cannot manually override this setting and you have to focus by guessing the subject range :) My copy is not perfect, sometimes it skips frames, maybe the shutter is faulty, I have to get a better one :).
